Hello Realme Fans,

(Realme GT 2 Pro)This year as well we have been working closely with Google in order to bring the latest Android 13 Developer Preview Program to our realme GT 2 Pro users.

If you’re a developer, own a realme GT 2 Pro, and can’t wait to help beta testing Android 13 – this is your opportunity to enroll!

Please keep in mind that:

The Android 13 Beta is meant to allow developers to adapt their apps to the new Android version.
The Android 13 Beta is still in the early stages of development, and might not represent a stable enough user experience. Unless you are a developer, we do not recommend flashing this ROM, especially if you have little to no experience in software development or flashing custom ROMs. Proceed at your own risk.
Some applications may not work properly. This includes Google apps as well as third-party ones.
The firmware may not come with all stock Android’s built-in features.

Known Issues:

All user data will be erased during the upgrade.
The automatic timing function is abnormal and manual timing is required.
Some system functions are not available.
Part of the interface display may look less than desirable.
Some applications may not work properly or be fully functional.
The system may have some stability issues.

1/ Local Upgrade Process from Android 12 to Android 13 Beta 1

Please update to the required version of Android 12 (RMX3301_A.14) in order to be able to enter the Android 13 Developer Preview (RMX3301_11_C.01):

Step-by-step Upgrade Process

Follow the following instructions to update to the Android 13 Beta 1:

Transfer the downloaded firmware to the phone storage;
Turn on developer mode
Go to Settings > Software Update > Settings in the upper right corner > Manually select the installation package
Select the downloaded firmware package, click install after loading
After the verification is completed, the system will be restarted and updated

2/ Local Rollback Process from Android 13 Beta 1 to Android 12

Please back up your data before proceeding with the rollback process: Settings > Additional Settings > Back Up and Reset > Backup & Restore, and then select the data to back up.

Please keep the battery level over 30%, and do not turn off your phone during the rollback process.

In order to revert back to Android 12, please follow the same procedure you went through to join the Android 13 Developer Preview but by using the rollback package below.

A. Qualcomm's native camera application - which lacks all realme’s built-in features.

Q. Will realme GT 2 Pro lose 5G connectivity in the Android 13 Developer Preview Program?
A. No, 5G connectivity will still work during the Android 13 Developer Preview Program.

Q. Will there be any other Android 13 Beta Preview updates? And when the official Android 13 comes out, will I receive the update directly?
A. No. There will not be further betas. The Android 13 Beta 1 for realme GT 2 Pro aims to provide the developers with a testing environment to adjust their apps and services in view of the upcoming Android 13 update. Yet once Google issues more beta versions or the official Android 13 update, these will not be provided. After you have conducted your testing, you will need to revert back to realme UI to keep receiving software updates.

How to install Android 13 on Google Pixel and other Android devices

(Google Pixel) Android 13 is currently available as a beta release. You can give it a shot right now if you’ve got the right hardware, and there are quite a few supported devices this time around. You can experience the beta on eligible Pixel smartphones, and a handful of non-Google devices.

The pre-release builds of Android 13 are, of course, rough around the edges, so Google doesn’t want to make it too easy to install it on your daily driver. You’ll need an eligible Pixel smartphone with an unlocked bootloader to flash the system image using your computer.

There are also OTA files, which update your Pixel to the Developer Preview/Beta without an unlocked bootloader. However, you still need to manually sideload the OTA package for the initial build.

WarningThe preview releases are intended for developers only, so don’t install them on your daily driver. You might encounter showstopper bugs or other system instabilities. It is highly recommended that you back up your data before proceeding. Users are advised to exercise caution.

Method 1: Sideload Android 13 via Recovery and ADB

Google Pixel To install the Developer Preview/Beta, you need to sideload the appropriate OTA package for your device from Recovery through ADB. This method will also work for Google Pixel devices with a locked bootloader.

Download the update .zip file on your computer. For convenience, you can rename this file to a simpler name and place the file in the directory where ADB is located on your computer.
Optional, but recommended: Verify the SHA-256 checksum of the file you have downloaded to ensure that the file has been downloaded completely and correctly.
Enable USB Debugging on your phone — Go to Settings > About Phone > Tap Build Number 7 times, (optionally) enter your pattern, PIN or password to enable Developer Options, and then navigate to Settings > Developer Options > Enable USB Debugging.
Connect your phone to your computer. Authorize your computer connection on your phone when the prompt comes up on your phone, if this is the first time you are connecting with the ADB instance of this computer.
On your computer, run the command:adb reboot recovery
You should see “No command” on your phone screen. Now press and hold the Power button of your phone. While you hold Power, press the Volume Up button and let go of both buttons quickly. You should the Android recovery menu.
Select the option Apply Update from ADB from the recovery menu.
On your computer, run the command:adb devicesThis should return a device serial with the “sideload” next to its name, indicating that your device is connected to the computer in sideload mode.
On your computer, run the command:adb sideload "filename".zipThe “filename” part is to be replaced with the name of the file downloaded in Step 1.
The update should be installed on your phone. Once the installation is complete, choose Reboot System Now on your phone to reboot into Android 13.

Method 2: Flashing full Factory Image via Fastboot

If you have an unlocked bootloader on a Google Pixel device, you need to flash the factory image of the Android 13 Developer Preview/Beta via Fastboot. Usually, this is done through a flash-all. sh or flash-all.bat script file that is included in the downloaded file, but its default configuration also wipes the device completely. You can, however, retain your data by deleting the “-w” wipe attribute from the command within the script.

Download the factory image .zip file on your computer.
Optional, but recommended: Verify the SHA-256 checksum of the file you have downloaded to ensure that the file has been downloaded completely and correctly.
Extract the .zip file, and copy and paste the resultant files onto your ADB and fastboot folder on your computer for convenience.
Optional: The resultant files would contain a flash-all. sh or flash-all.bat script file. Using a text editor, open the flash-all.sh if you’re on macOS/Linux or the flash-all.bat script file if you’re on Windows. Find and remove/delete the -w flag in the fastboot update command. This will skip the data wipe for your phone. To avoid compatibility issues, a data wipe is recommended though.
Enable USB Debugging on your phone — Go to Settings > About Phone > Tap Build Number 7 times, (optionally) enter your pattern, PIN or password to enable Developer Options, and then navigate to Settings > Developer Options > Enable USB Debugging.
Connect your phone to your computer. Authorize your computer connection on your phone when the prompt comes up on your phone, if this is the first time you are connecting with the ADB instance of this computer.
On your computer, run:adb reboot bootloaderThis will reboot your phone into Fastboot mode.
On your Mac/Linux PC, run:flash-allThis command executes the flash-all.sh script file, which will then install the necessary bootloader, baseband firmware, and operating system. If you are on Windows, you can simply double-click the flash-all.bat file.
Once the script finishes, your device will reboot into the new OS.

Method 3: Install Android 13 GSI

Even if you don’t own a compatible Pixel smartphone, you can still install Google’s official GSI binaries to test Android 13, provided your device is compatible with Project Treble. You also need an unlocked bootloader. The last thing that we need to say is that flashing a GSI will require you to factory reset your device, so be sure you’re prepared to lose app data before you proceed with this! We recommend you make an off-device backup (such as on your PC or an SD Card) in case anything goes wrong.

Download links for the official Android 13 Beta GSIs. Google has yet to publish GSIs based on the stable release. You should download the appropriate version based on your device’s architecture. To see which architecture your device has, run the following command:adb shell getprop ro.product.cpu.abi
Optional but recommended: Verify the SHA-256 checksum of the file you have downloaded to ensure that the file has been downloaded completely and correctly.
Extract the .zip file, and copy and paste the resultant files (system.img and vb meta.img) onto your ADB and fastboot folder on your computer for convenience.
Enable USB Debugging on your phone — Go to Settings > About Phone > Tap “Build Number” 7 times, (optionally) enter your pattern, PIN or password to enable Developer Options, and then navigate to Settings > Developer Options > Enable “USB Debugging”.
Connect your phone to your computer. Authorize your computer connection on your phone when the prompt comes up on your phone, if this is the first time you are connecting with this ADB computer.
On your computer, run:adb reboot bootloaderThis will reboot your phone into Fastboot mode.
As mentioned earlier, the bootloader of the target device must be unlocked beforehand.
Next, we need to disable Android Verified Boot (AVB). To do that, run the following command:fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
Optional but recommended: Enter the following to wipe the system partition:fastboot erase system
Flash the Android 13 GSI:fastboot flash system system.img
Allow the image to flash, it could take a few minutes. Once that’s done, wipe the user data partition:fastboot -w
Finally, reboot your device:fastboot reboot
Hopefully, your device should boot into the new build of Android.

Please review the points below before proceeding with the registration process:

Android 13 developer preview builds are early Android OS releases and are intended for application developers only – they are not recommended for general use.
Although strenuously tested by our development team, the builds may display performance and/or stability issues in some instances Lenovo P12 Pro.
Some applications downloaded from the Google Play Store may not be supported (either in full or partially) and may behave erratically.
Online support is limited and may not be available to help users who experience difficulties with flashing the device.
The Beta image is not the final version, and some features might be missing or not working well.

Ready to get started?

Please double-check that check P12 Pro device on your hand is a WIFI version and purchased from markets outside of China, as now the provided image only supports the WIFI devices that are on sale outside of China. Wrong device usage will cause the device to brick. Several ways to identify WIFI device:

Check the sales box.
The card slot on the left edge has only one holder for an SD card.
Go to in on your device, the Model name in is “Lenovo TB-Q706F”.

Please remember that software flashing will result in the loss of user data, we recommend that you backup your data properly before a software flashing.

1. Download SW flashing packages and install & configure your PC environment by following the instructions inside the package.
2. Download and unzip the 13 Beta1 image on your local drive, and then flash your device following the corresponding instructions in SW flashing packages.

Now your device should be ready. Please visit the 13 developer site for details on how to set up your environment in Android Studio.

SW limitation

To serve a stable system SW to support your development as quickly as possible, some functions on P12 Pro official SW are tailored, please check the details below.

Fingerprint unlock is not supported.
Face Unlock is not supported.
TOF sensor-related function is removed.
The stylus key function is not supported but the basic function works.
Touchpad functions with two fingers are not supported.
Touchpad swipes up/down/left/right with 3 or 4 fingers are not supported.
Miracast function is not supported.
Screen output via cable (extended screen) can be supported when is turned on in the developer menu.
Cast Via HDMI (extended screen) can be supported when is turned on in the developer menu.
VPN is not tested and may not work properly.
WIDI is not supported.
Video play may face audio issues.
Settings may display abnormal sometimes, re-selecting or cleaning recent apps can make it work properly.

Keynotes

Please manually connect the keyboard to your device via Bluetooth to display the battery info of the keyboard in Settings.
Please report issues/questions via the preload Feedback app on your device if any. The more details you provide, the faster we can support you with an effective suggestion.

Rollback to official release

At present, TECNO CAMON 19 Pro (5G) is in the Android 13 Developer Preview Program. As with previous versions, Android 13 includes behavior changes to help improve performance, battery life, security, and privacy. In some cases, these changes can affect apps until they are updated to support Android 12, so you might see impacts ranging from minor issues to more significant functionality limitations.

Some apps might crash or may not function as expected when running on this release. This includes Google’s apps as well as other apps.
Some permissions managed through Settings may need to be set again after app re-installation or device reboot.
The release contains some known platform-related issues such as performance and battery, access files in external storage, and permissions.
Some apps or icons may be obscured by the water drop screen.
The camera may not be as good as expected.

Android 13 Beta 2.1 is here with bug fixes

(Android 13 Beta 2.1)Android 13 is edging closer and closer, and we’ve already seen a lot of what’s to come with the next platform release. We’ve seen the company adding new features with each build, and some highlights include the photo picker API and more granular media files permissions. Most recently we saw Android 13 Beta 2 drop during this year’s Google I/O which set the groundwork for a more predictive back gesture, but the company is already out with Beta 2.1, packing in a few software fixes for users who are currently testing out the betas.

When will Android 13 release?

For Android updates, Google typically reveals a “platform stability” milestone so that developers can know when Google intends to deliver the final SDK/NDK APIs, along with final internal APIs and app-facing system behaviors. Google intends to reach platform stability in June 2022, with several weeks at minimum planned before the official release. Android 12 hit platform stability in August of 2021 and the final version was released in October of that year. Google has released more details about the release timeline that you can check out.

Android 13 Beta 2.1 bug fixes

These fixes are as follows:

Fixed an issue where typing in the search bar resulted in a blank list of suggestions.
Fixed an issue where devices would crash and restart when turning on the hotspot.
Fixed an issue where a continuous call dialing sound could be heard in the background during a phone call.
Fixed an issue where devices would crash and restart after disconnecting from Android Auto.

Google also says that there are stability improvements.

If you’re someone who’s using one of these betas, then you should think about installing Beta 2.1 that just came out. Note though that the known issues list that Google published for Beta 2 applies here, it just seems to be the case that Google deemed these ones to be a higher priority and fixed them in between beta releases.

All in all, it’s a pretty minor release, and it’s good to see Google ironing out bugs in between releases. Beta builds are designed to be used by users who want to try out the next version of Android, so while you shouldn’t use it on your daily driver, I’m sure plenty of users do. As a result, some of these are pretty problematic bugs that could have caused problems for people.

How to opt-in to Android 13 Beta

Before installing the Android 13 Beta:

Please back up any personal data first. All user data will be erased after installing the firmware.
Ensure your battery’s charge level is higher than 20%.
Make sure that no screen lock (pattern, PIN, or password) is set on your phone.

Step 1:

Turn the device off, hold down the Volume Up key and then hold down the Power key to enter Fastboot mode. After that, connect your Zenfone 8 to your PC via a USB cable.

Step 2:

Decompress the Android 13 image file, and then use the included scripts to flash your phone:

Windows: Double click on the update_image.bat file
Ubuntu: Execute update_image.sh
MacOS: Execute update_image_for_mac.sh

Caution: Do not unplug the USB cable and ensure there is a stable connection between your Zenfone 8 and PC during the flashing process.

Step 3:

When the flash update finishes, a ‘Download Complete’ message will appear on the terminal. Hit the Enter key on the keyboard to restart your Zenfone 8. If any failed message appears on the terminal, the flash was unsuccessful. In this case, please try again or report the issue.

How to opt-out and revert back to Android 12

Before reverting back to Android 12:

Please back up any personal data first. All user data will be erased after installing the firmware.
Ensure your battery’s charge level is higher than 20%.

Step 1:

Turn the device off, hold down the Volume Up key and then hold down Power key to enter Fastboot mode. After that, connect your Zenfone 8 to your PC via a USB cable.

Step 2:

How to download Android 13 for Google Pixel

(Download Android 13 for Google Pixel) Get ready to dig into Android 13! The next major release of Google’s OS is now available as a beta. For lucky owners of the Google Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 5a, Pixel 5, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4, or Pixel 4 XL, you’ll be among the first users to see what Android 13 “Tiramisu” has to offer.

Alongside the supported Google Pixel devices. Android 13 is also available for a wide range of devices from different OEMs through Developer Preview programs.

Keep in mind that the preview builds won’t give you the full Android 13 experience. As it’s very much a work-in-progress. The beta is aimed solely at developers, since they need to test their apps against new Android platform APIs months before the next Android version becomes available for the general public. Installing the Developer Preview/Beta on your daily driver isn’t recommended, as you might face various system instabilities. Do back up your data before proceeding.

How to install

NOTE:
Dirty flashing from OOS12 based version is fine. The required firmware is included in the ROM.

DANGER:
- When coming from OOS to Nameless-AOSP OOS13 based ROM you need to have OOS13 installed.
- For OOS12 based build the required firmware is C.62-C.65 IN BOTH SLOTS! DO NOT SKIP THIS!

Latest platform-tools
Google USB driver
Developer options enabled: Settings -> About phone -> Tap Build number at the bottom seven (7) times
ADB enabled: Settings -> System -> Developer options -> USB debugging
Required images: dtbo.img, vendor_boot.img, boot.img (put these in the same folder with platform-tools)
Get images from the downloads page
ROM zip (put it in the same folder with platform-tools)
Unlocked bootloader

NOTE:
If you are currently on OOS11 it's better to unlock bootloader before updating to OOS12. For unknown reason some devices cannot be unlocked in OOS12.
